If you want to be able to welcome 2013, I have here 2 driving safety tips which you need to keep in mind every time you are in your car. These tips will help you avoid problems.

Always put your seatbelt on. Seatbelts are very important. This is one of the most important contributions a driver can make in reducing fatal accidents. According to research, 65% of people who suffer from injuries are not wearing seatbelts. So, always remember to buckle up regardless of how short the drive is. When travelling with children you have to make sure that they are wearing their seatbelts too. Do not forget to use child safety seats, as well, when appropriate.

Always stay alert. Some people drive absentmindedly and this can cause accidents. When driving, you should always check traffic in all directions especially before entering any intersection. Always watch out for pedestrians, motorcyclists, children and bicyclists. How do you stay alert when driving? Get a good night’s sleep, especially when you are driving long distances. Refrain from drinking tea, alcohol or coffee before driving. And definitely don’t text or talk on the phone while driving!
